Among the significant ways Viki McKinney benefits her clients is her perspective that each client has enormous value. "They should not undersell themselves," says Viki. "They need to learn to do those things they are very, very good at and let someone else take care of the matters that they would be wasting their talent on." In demonstrating, over the course of her career, that she is a true leader, including serving on the Longmont, Colorado, City Council from 1974 to 1979 and being personally asked by Governor Dick Lamm to serve in the state legislature, Viki has become a person to whom others turn for insight.
Key points in Viki's career have included administering the stock option and corporate export programs for Storage Technology Corporation and, in the late 1990s, founding her own business entity. The aspect she has most enjoyed through these experiences, she says, is the process of learning. Viki's range of skills also encompasses serving as a tax consultant, paralegal and new media researcher.
In the community, Viki has, for several years, chaired the board of the Longmont Public Library, a service that, from 2000 to 2005, was simultaneous with chairing the board of the Friends of the Library.
She and her family, which includes seven grandchildren, live in and around Longmont, Colorado.
