Abbie Kozik, associateExperience has shown Abbie Kozik that the most important way she helps clients is to listen well and let them know they are being heard. "It's all about listening to who they are and what they do and then educating myself," says Abbie. From such conversations, Abbie extracts what a client intends to be doing, then creates graphic design that reflects who they are and, consequently, makes them happy. She continues, "It is important to show a client what they look like, not what someone thinks they should look like. I've accomplished something when they like what they see and feel good about it." This has become, she says, her personal mission. Abbie has won awards for her service and design from the National Kidney Foundation of Colorado, Montana & Wyoming and the Higher Education Association of the Rockies, respectively. For more than 14 years she has given clients service in strategic design, brand strategy and corporate identity. A significant point in her work has been working with nonprofit organizations, including the Denver Foundation. Abbie embraces cause marketing, and her work on the foundation's Strengthening Neighborhoods annual report demonstrates how she has used design to bring out the organization's style of improving lives. "To read the piece is to see people doing good things," she says. Abbie studied journalism and graphic design at Drake University and fashion design and merchandising at the American College in London and the American Intercontinental University in Los Angeles, from which she graduated summa cum laude. She lives in Denver, Colorado, with her husband, Mark.
